With the update of April 30, 2025, the calculation of CO₂ values in Atlatos was switched to the Travalyst Travel Impact Model (TIM).
This model is based on an international standard for assessing environmental impacts in the travel sector and enables a more accurate representation of emissions.
What exactly is changing?
- CO₂ values are displayed already during the connection search
Users receive an initial estimate of emissions directly when searching for connections – without additional clicks or calculations. - More accurate emissions data
The TIM takes into account, among other things, aircraft types, cabin classes, and load factors. This results in more realistic CO₂ values than generalized averages. - Uniform standard
By using TIM, Atlatos aligns with a cross-industry recognized model, which is also supported by major platforms of global companies with more than 10 billion calculations.
Benefits for Companies and Travelers
- Greater transparency in travel planning
By displaying CO₂ values early in the booking process, trips can be planned more consciously and sustainably. - Better decision-making basis for policies
Companies can more easily integrate emissions into their travel policies or reporting processes.
