The increasing number of programms with which employees work on a daily basis do not only make work easier, but sometimes more complex. The large number of logins is often followed by safety risk regarding the data in the company network. With the help of the Single Sign-On technology, companies are able to make the work with the Atlatos Profi Traveller easier for their employees and protect their data from external access at the same time.
For Atlatos users, Single Sign-On (SSO) means a one-time login (authentication) and the subsequent usage of the Atlatos Profi Traveller without the need to login in again.
Viz. a user logs on to his desktop computer in the domain e.g. and is therefore able to access the Atlatos Profi Traveller directly. The user only has to authenticate himself physically to an entity (server) once (e.g. by entering a password or other factors) and the SSO mechanism takes over the authentication to Atlatos afterwards.
The SAML procedure (Security Assertion Markup Language) is used as standard for the Atlatos Profi Traveller. The SSO mechanism handles the authentication transparently in the background. For this purpose an encrypted session cookie is utilized in SAML. The user receives this session cookie, which is provided with an expiry date, in the browser from the company's authentication service (Identity Provider - IdP). After this process the user can work with the Atlatos Profi Traveller.
